Raindrop Turkish House organized a national night out event on October 4. The purpose of the event was to unite neighborhoods in an effort to reduce crime. Police department, neighbors and families from Turkish community with their children participated in the night out. Program started with serving doner kebap from Turkish cuisine to all participants. Polis Department made a short speech about night out. Mr. Okumus emphasized that police are working for people, so we have to support and help them. Police Department also thanked Raindrop Turkish House for organizing the event. Executive Assistant Chief of Police, Kirk Munden, said, “ We thank to Raindrop Turkish House for making this event possible and we are very happy the collaboration between Fondren Police Division and the Raindrop Turkish House.” On behalf of neighbors, Families took their children into police cars and took photos. Some kids enjoyed playing the police siren. It was a fun and educating night for children (October 4, 2011, Houston, TX).
