Early Thanksgiving Dinner at Raindrop Foundation Albuquerque

IMG 4028Raindrop Foundation Albuquerque in collaboration with The Dialogue Institute SW, organized Early Thanksgiving Dinner on November 21th evening with neighbors and friends in Albuquerque.

The event started with the welcoming remarks by Necip Orhan, Director of Raindrop Foundation and followed with the thanksgiving remarks by Reverends Carol McGowan and Phil Dougharty. Then Rev. Dougharty took the lead in curving the turkey to start the course for the dinner program. After turkey curving ceremony, all the participants enjoyed the delicious and tasty dishes and desserts.

Raindrop Helping Hands Albuquerque helps Indian-American Families in Need with the Presence of State Representative Georgene Louis

She arranged a gathering with 20 families in need at West Mesa High School in collaboration with Youth Development, Inc. (YDI) – Elev8. At the gathering Rep. Louis thanked to the Raindrop Helping Hands and Turkish American community for the donation to the Indian-American community in NM.

Memorable Thanksgiving dinner

On a beautiful fall evening on Saturday, November 16, many friends and neighbors gathered at the Raindrop Turkish House of Austin to  share meal around one table.  The most senior guest cut the turkey and the feast began. While everyone was enjoying their delicious food, honorable guest Rev. Ken White , Associate Pastor at United Christian Church, shared his Thanksgiving memories with an attentive audience.  He also recounted the story of how Thanksgiving became a national holiday.  Following his speech, the world-renowned guitarist Celil Refik Kaya played a unique instrument called rebap which is over one thousand year old Turkish instrument and grandfather of violin, whose warm sound and melodies complemented the friendly atmosphere in the room.
