Raindrop Seminar: The Excavation of an Ancient Column Shipwrecked at Kizilburun, Turkey

ArchRaindrop Turkish House Bryan- College Station Chapter organized a seminar on Thursday, April, 12 2012. At this seminar, Dr Deborah Carlson, President of the Institute of Nautical Archaeology, from Department of Anthropology gave a presentation titled “The Excavation of an Ancient Column Shipwrecked at Kizilburun, Turkey”. Following the presentation, a question and answer session was held. Dr Carlson. Before the program was ended, Raindrop presented a small gift to Dr. Carlson as an appreciation of her participation

Raindrop  Turkish House cleaned up University Drive on Saturday, March 31st. The mission of the Adopt-A-Street program is to promote civic responsibility and community pride as well as to enhance College Station's quality of life through clean streets and beautiful neighborhoods.

Turkish Brunch

March_breakfast4On Saturday March 24, Raindrop Turkish House Bryan/College Station branch hosted ladies for a brunch. There were more than 30 different dishes. The tables were arranged as a typical Turkish style brunch. The ladies had their Turkish tea with the cute small glasses. Ladies had lovely conversations and strengthen their friendships. It was a remarkable day and all participants are looking forward to meeting again.

Raindrop Helping Hands Served Dinner to Less Fortunate In Bryan

Twincity_04120Raindrop Helping Hands, College Station / Bryan branch, hosted a dinner on March 21st at Twin City Mission for 100 people in need living in College Station/ Bryan area. Cooperating with Twin City Mission, volunteers from Raindrop Turkish House served the meal. Volunteers from Raindrop Turkish House think it’s a very good way to show the Turkish kindness and serve the community.

Coffee Night March 2012


Raindrop Turkish House Bryan/College Station Branch organized another joyful Ladies’ Coffee Night.  We played a warm up game. 2 groups had to carry some water from a cup to another. The winners of the game had gifts. The program continued with the presentation about Raindrop activities. Virginia was congratulated by the ladies for winning the 5th place of the cuisine competition in Houston 6th Annual Turkish Language Olympiad. After the announcement, a presentation and demonstrations about Turkish tea and coffee took place. Proceeding, ladies had delicious Turkish desserts and refreshments. The program ended after having the Turkish coffee and great conversations. Raindrop Turkish House is grateful for all who joined. Ladies meet on the second Friday of every month for Coffee Night.
