Spring Clothing Drive for Reynolds Home ,March 5- April 1

Raindrop Turkish House  volunteers are  holding a spring clothing drive which benefits the Reynolds home.Please put clean, gently worn clothing, shoes, and eye glasses in the bag provided and leave outside the Raindrop office by 5 pm Sunday, April. 1st.

Raindrop staff will take clothing to Reynolds Home, for Homeless Women and Children

ITEMS NEEDED:

Jeans, shoes, sweaters, eyeglasses, shirts, jackets

Please give only clothes that are clean and in good condition.

DR. IRASEMA CORONADO WILL SPEAK ON THE COFFEE NIGHT MARCH

Raindrop Women Association organizes monthly Coffee Night for Ladies. Dr. Irasema Coronado, Ph.D., professor of political science at UTEP will be the keynote speaker .She will speak about the women on the US- Mexico border.

At the program Turkish food and coffee will be served.

DEAN OF LIBERAL ARTS FROM UTEP SPOKE AT RAINDROP TURKISH HOUSE EL PASO

IMG_7247On February 28 Dr. Particia D. Witherspoon, Dean of Liberal Arts at University of Texas at El Paso, was hosted at luncheon of Raindrop Turkish House El Paso. Along with her, there were hosted a great number of people including students and academia of UTEP. Following attendees’ enjoying their Turkish dishes Dr. Witherspoon gave a speech on importance of UTEP in higher education in El Paso. She briefly mentioned about history of university’s foundation and its accomplishments and contribution to the community in both sides of the border. She noted the uniqueness of inhabitants of this region equipped with speaking two languages, being exposed to two different cultures.

LUNCH FOR NEIGHBORS

DSC00291On February 23th Raindrop Turkish House El Paso organized another neighborhood lunch activity which takes place twice in every semester. During the program, attendees were presented recent activities and events of Turkish House.

As usual neighbors had an opportunity to get together, strengthen their friendship and new comers were introduced to others while they were enjoying Turkish dish, dessert and tea, which are indispensable part of neighborhood gatherings.(2/23/2012)

Raindrop Turkish House El Paso Cuisine Class Alumni Cook for the Homeless Fellows!

homelessThe Turkish Cuisine Class Alumni cook for the homeless fellows on this coming Saturday, Feb 25. Sponsored by the Raindrop Turkish House, 50 homeless fellows will be served on Saturday evening. The food will be delivered to Reynolds Home
for Homeless Women and Children  once it is ready.
