 A highly destructive tornado tore through Moore, Oklahoma on May 20, 2013. It devastated the lives of thousands of residents claiming about 24 lives. Many residential and commercial buildings, as well as many cars and trucks, were destroyed. The tornado left many affected individuals needing disaster aid. President declared national disaster for Moore making federal funding available.

Tornado Victims in Moore area in Oklahoma needs our help!

Dear Friends,

We are deeply saddened by the loss and the damage because of the Tornado in Moore area. Our hearts and thoughts go to all of those who were affected by the Tornado but people need more than that.

Federal Government has declared a major disaster in the State of Oklahoma following a massive tornado that destroyed or heavily damaged lots of homes, schools etc. in the southern part of the state.

Raindrop Helping Hands launches a campaign that focuses on all aspects of the relief efforts following Tornado pass through Moore, OK.

The host of the Ladies Coffee Night, Sarah, welcomed everyone with warm greetings. The night started with a brief presentation about Raindrop Foundation. And the program and continued with a presentation about Sauthern East Anatolian Region.

After this informative presentation, there was a quick raffle for gifts from Raindrop Turkish House, which was very exciting for everyone. Later, Sarah, introduced the Keynote Speaker, Kalli Clark, Deputy Chief of the Engineering and Construction Division of the Tulsa District Corps of Engineers, gave speech about "Mother's day". At the end of the speech representatives of Raindrop Turkish House handed out an unforgettable gift from Turkey to Mrs. Kalli Clark, Turkish dessert. After Felisa Hilbert, International for Education community PTA Chairman Oklahoma Mom Congress Delegate, gave an award to Rabia Akkus, mother of the year". And we gave certificates to our Volunteers. Then Water Marbling performed during the Ladies Coffee Night. Water Marbling (Ebru) art was one of the focus points as the guess experienced hands-on painting on the water.

At the end of the night all of the guests enjoyed delightful Turkish foods as they had Turkish coffee, the favorites of the night were Pastry, Turkish meals, Various Salads and Delicious desserts.

4th Annual Turkish Festival was held at Raindrop Turkish House in Tulsa on Saturday, April 27th, 2013 with a great success.

About 4,000 people attended the fourth annual Turkish Festival at the Raindrop Foundation. The event was an inviting mix of authentic Turkish food, such as doner, dolma, pastries, baklava, kabab. After tasting the delicious Turkish dishes, visitors had the pleasure of drinking Turkish Tea in the oriental corner. Water Marbling (Ebru) art was one of the focus points as the guess experienced hands-on painting on the water. Visitors had a chance to see live presentations of traditional Turkish Cini (Ceramic Art). Live Whirling Derwish performance in the festival amused visitors, many of whom had no chance to see it before. Also Turkish Folk Dances were performanced.
