The Institute of Interfaith Dialog and Raindrop Turkish House of Tulsa hosted FBI special agents

img_6242.jpgThe Institute of Interfaith Dialog and Raindrop Turkish House of Tulsa hosted FBI special agents for an educational fun night on Wednesday, November 18th. The program started with a Turkish dinner and followed by a presentation about FBI by special agent Ken Kuminski. Mr. Kuminski gave a detailed information about the history of FBI and the roles of FBI when it comes to the security of people. He described the differences between other agencies and FBI. The agents answered all the questions from the community. We thank FBI for their help with educating the members of IID and Raindrop Turkish House.(November 18,2009,Tulsa,OK)


Cooking Class October

img_5411.jpgRaindrop Turkish House of Tulsa started Turkish food cooking classes early October. The attendees learned how to cook Turkish food and enjoyed the dinner after the class. The classes continued for 3 consecutive weeks and several people from Tulsa area attended. The cooking classes will take place at Raindrop Turkish House throughout the year.(October,2009,Tulsa,OK)

Turkish Coffee Night,October 24

img_5504.jpg"Turkish Coffee Night" activities started with an interesting topic at Tulsa's Raindrop Turkish House this year. The theme of the coffee night was "Women in Education" on October 24th. Keynote speaker was Dr. Cathy Burden, superintendent of Union Schools. Dr. Burden discussed the role of women in education and how women help the society for better education. Over 25 ladies attended this fun event and enjoyed Turkish cookies, salads, desserts, and pastries along with Turkish coffee and tea. the next coffee night will take place on Friday, December 11th at 6:30 p.m.(October 24,2009,Tulsa,OK)

Turkey Trip Oriantation Program

istanbul1.jpgRaindrop Turkish House of Tulsa† was held an orientation program† for guests planning to participate to the Interfaith Turkey Trip this summer. The Institute interfaith dialog has been organizing these trips for several years. Following a delicious dinner of Turkish cuisine, Institute of Interfaith Dialog† volunteers† informed our guests about the upcoming trip with a visual presentation and answered their questions. At the end of the program, everyone was glad to be going to Turkey this summer and already started trying to schedule a common time period for the trip.†††††† (May 17,2009,Tulsa,OK)

6th Annual Intercultural Dialog and Friendship Dinner in Tulsa, OK
suzanorhanabi.jpg The Tulsa chapter of The Institute of Interfaith Dialog hosted its 6th Annual Intercultural Dialog and Friendship Dinner†on October 8, 2009.† The theme of †the dinner was "celebrating democracy as a key to living together."†Kamil Celik of IID welcomed guests along with†a moment of silence for Jerry Lasker who past away a few weeks ago. The master of ceremonies, Dr. Tom McKeon gave an introduction to IID and the Gulen movement. He said Mr. Gulen did not like the movement called Gulen Movement and he preferred to call it as "Humans united around high human values".
