Turkish Coffee Night,May 7

img_3301.jpg"A cup of coffee has a memory of 40 years"†(Turkish proverb); on May 7th,Raindrop Turkish House of Tulsa and Institute of Interfaith Dialog hosted ladies† for the monthly Turkish Coffee Night.††† More than 50†participated in the†event†enjoyed the special Turkish Coffee along with many other foods†and learned about the preparation of Turkish coffee "kahve" .† The†theme of this month's†"Coffee Night"†was "Mothers day". There was a very nice presentation from the volunteers of Raindrop Turkish House†with a subject of "Mother's love".(May 7,2009,Tulsa,OK)

img_3137.jpgRaindrop Turkish House of Tulsa hosted a cultural exchange program on Tuesday, April 30th at 6 p.m. with the Special Education class of Oklahoma State University. Dr. Giacobbe and her students visited Raindrop Turkish House and enjoyed Turkish food and tea following a small presentation from the volunteers of Raindrop Turkish House about the Turkish community of Tulsa and the cultural activities. Dr. Giacobbe stressed the importance of cultural exchange and the values it brings to Tulsa community. (April 30,2009,Tulsa,OK)

Turkish Cuisine Class,April 19

img_2499.jpgRaindrop Turkish House hosted the Turkish Food cooking class on Sunday, April 19th at 2 p.m. at their Tulsa office. The participants learned how to make potato salad with yogurt dressing, pastry rolls with vegetables and muhallebi (Turkish milk desert) with raspberries and blueberries. The cooking part took about 1 hour and the participants waited for the desert to cool down. At the end of the class the food was enjoyed along with Turkish hot tea in a very friendly environment and a wonderful dialog.†(April 19,2009,Tulsa,OK)††††

Korean-Turkish Friendship Night

img_2411.jpgTulsa Raindrop Turkish House organized Turkish-Korean friendship night on Thursday, April 16th and hosted a number of South Korean students who are studying English at ULI(University Language Institute) in Tulsa .A presentation reminded that Turkish soldiers went to Korea to help Koreans in Korean War †was demonstrated. And there were also great examples of Turkish cuisine as always which shared as a symbol of friendship between Koreans and Turks.
