1 Tbsp. water (if needed)
Mashed Potato ingredients:
2 tbsp. butter
½ cup milk
Tomato Paste Sauce:
2 tbsp. tomato paste
2 tbsp. oil
1 cup water
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Preheat a 375 F. oven.
Knead the ground meat in a bowl with bread crumbs, onion, and 1 egg, salt and spices. Add a little water if necessary.
When thoroughly mixed, take pieces the size of an egg and roll in your wet hands to give an oval shape. Make shallow indentations in the center of each burger. Place in a large ovenproof. Cook in the oven for 25 minutes. When cooked, remove from the oven but leave the oven on.
Meanwhile, peel and chop the potatoes and boil in plenty of water.
Once cooked, drain and mash.
Mix the mashed potato, milk, salt and the remaining butter together and place in a saucepan. Cover and cook for about 5 minutes.
Fill the indentations in the burgers with the potato mixture.
Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the mashed potato, and paprika.
Stir the oil and tomato paste 2-3 minutes on the stove and add the water and mix it.
When the sauce is ready, pour over the burgers.
Place in the oven again for 10-15 minutes more, until mozzarella cheese gets golden color.
